"The City of the Violet Crown" is one of Austin's oldest nicknames.   One time Austin resident and master short-fiction author William Sydney Porter, best known by his pen name O. Henry, has long been credited with the name, used in his short story “Tictoq,” published in 1894.  However, the Austin History Center has found printed references in The Austin Daily Statesman pre-dating O. Henry’s story by several months, one indicating the Violet Crown name may have been in use as early as 1891.

We seek responsible, hard-working, ethical individuals who have a passion for film and food and understand the importance of best in class customer service.
